Hydroxypropy Methyl Cellulose Ether (HPMC) is widely used as a thickener, stabilizer and water retaining agent for building materials. It provides water retention and workability for mortars, it can improve adhesion, reduce skinning and increase open time.
Hydroxypropy Methyl Cellulose Ether (HPMC) is a highly pure cotton cellulose as raw material, under alkaline conditions by special etherification and preparation.White or whitish powder.HPMC decreases with the decrease of methoxide content, increase of gel point, decrease of water solubility and decrease of surface activity.
Hydroxypropy Methyl Cellulose Ether (HPMC) has thickening ability, salt resistance, low ash powder, pH stability, water retention, dimensional stability, excellent film forming, and a wide range of enzyme resistance, dispersion and adhesion.
In the course of construction,HPMC is used for wall putty, tile adhesive, cement mortar, dry mix mortar, wall plaster, skim coat, mortar, concrete admixtures, cement, gypsum plaster, joints fillers, crack filler, etc.
Function:
1. HPMC is used as a thickening and water-retaining additive in the production of building and finishing materials (paints, putties, dry building mixes), including in the manufacture of adhesives for tiles, self-leveling floors and concrete products.
2. HPMC is the main modifying additive in almost all types of water-dispersion paints, putties. It is actively used in dry construction mixtures, due to its ability to retain water in the bulk of the solution, in particular, to slow the rapid transition of water to an absorbent base.

Method to use HPMC:

In the form of a dry powder, it is advisable to enter immediately after water, before the rest of the dry raw materials.
